Okay... i have a 98 4.3l and i am about to put exhaust on it. I want an aggressive tone, but i also want to gain power out of it. From what i have seen and heard, it looks like the best way to go is the flowmaster 40 series. So i guess my question is... should i go with the 40 series original, or the 40 series delta flow (i dont really know the dif.)

Go for a Dynomax Bulet Muffler, it sounds great, got a deep tone, and the exhaust snarls at you when you let off the gas. I have one on my 88 s-10 blazer and am about to put one on my 02 Blazer X. Plus its cheep, 30 bucks!

Hey, krazyshane, can you give me some more info on your truck/ I think it looks real clean and agressive! By the way, 40 Originals are what I would go for, just my opinion though. Stick With the original FLOWS!!

Sorry dude, that truck on the left is not mine... its just a dream... heh. in actuallity, i am 16, buying a 98 blk ext cab, 4.3l Std in about a month. I am just trying to see what i am going to have to put into it this summer. I am going to add: Xenon ground effects- $650, Euro clear lights - $99, Air ride - $1199, and exhaust - $?. Assuming the exhaust is 200- 300 $ my total will be anywhere from $2198 - $2298. However, i think that truck is awesome and if you would like to see it go here.

duals with bags? i would say you would have to go with a turn down or run it in front of the wheels but the cost i would say would probably be in 300 range for it installed

I have a single 3" cat back on my truck, Flowmaster with a custom
bent pipe. It cost me less than $200.00 bucks. Duals are a waste of money, time and HP.

(oreo) That brake line is way to close remember stock brake lines will expand 1/8 to 1/4 and in heavy braking even more. In time the rubber will dry out from the exhaust heat and that will cause you PROBLEMS. You need to install a stainles steel braided line to replace the stock one. Also I would do both sides so you get even braking press. in the rear. The muffler shop sould have seen this because it's a major safety problem :nono:

How much should I pay for a flowmaster 40 series with a new tailpipe and a chrome tip? I'm getting this done tommorrow.

(SS4Real) with all your mods listed you should have had a performance muffler first. You will have to check the shops in your area. But I'm thinking on the high side $65 to 70 for the (40) $10 for the (chrome tip) and maybe $25 to 40 to bend and hang a 2 1/2" pipe out the back. It maybe cheaper in Arizona. GOOD LUCK. :smoke:

I just had a 50 series delta flow put on last week. I went with the 50 DF cause i didnt want it to be so loud. After a week i decided that the pipe and ugly tip looked like **** and went back and he cut it off and turned it down at the axel. Now its like 4xs as loud and alot deeper. Really suprised me.

Yeah, turndowns are loud, i got used to it, i may find a shop to put on a chrome tip. KrazyShane, good luck on finding a good truck for you. Just so you know, Euro lights are less then 50 bux (www.procarparts.com), and i'd go w/the flowmaster, but i thnk for the price, you'll be just as happy w/the Dynomax. To find out the difference between flowmasters original, and delta, go to their web page. And lastly, you forgot to add in the price for your stereo. Good Luck

Flows are chambered muffs, while Maggies are a straight through design.
Best bet is a muff with a straight through design with the tail pipe all
the way to the rear. I run an Flowtech Afterburner which is a semi
chambered muff because one can see the inlet pipe and outlet pipe
though they are offset. Flows great and I like the sound.

I have run more than 5 different muffs from Flows to Hooker Max
Flow, to Gibson, to Spintech and the Flowtech is my fav.

Regardless please go here for great prices and free shipping
as well as great customer service. You'll get the best deal by
calling. I don't work for this company or have any interests
with them, but they sure took care of me on two purchases.
