trying to put a 97 2.2L in my 03 that has a 2.2L didn't know if the 8th Vin digit being different would affect it because the air box and the hoses for the AC are located differently so I'm not sure if that's the only thing, will it work?

Moved to 2.2L 2nd Gen 4 Banging.

From what I've read on there forum, most likely not. There seems to be a lot of variations between the 2.2 years. Look around in this section...I'm sure the answer is there.

Not compatible. The crank timing notch changed in '98+.
