I finally got the engine out of my 88. One note...I highly recommend removing the entire frontend. Removing the frontend took about 1 1/2hr (w/ lots of bs'ng). By removing the frontend, we could take out the engine and transmission together.

Hopefully, by the time the machine shop is done with my block, I'll have the engine compartment ready.

i can get a 4.3 and smaller with tranny in and out with the front clip still on pretty easily..... in and out by myself......

if you pulled a v8 yeah it would be near impossible to pull the duo out together... and reassembly with a v8 would be ALOT easier with it off

let us know how it goes

I have pulled out a v8 with trans still on it with out removing the front end... It sucked ass I completly agree with removing the front end it makes the removel and instalation process easier.
