Not sure what’s causing it but the engine whines loud as hell when it’s running. It’s so loud you can’t hear anything else from the engine or exhaust. I haven’t been able to locate the source. Any thoughts?

4.3, it is a whine. If it’s any of those would it be possible to just have the belts to tight?
Unlikely.

Have you tried rubbing a bar of soap on the belt? Does that quiet it down (temporarily)?

Also, try spraying some lube (silicone lube or WD40 is fine) on the hub of the tensioner pulley and the idler pulley. Does that quiet it down temporarily? That is not a permanent fix, but rather a diagnostic to locate the problem. If spraying it with lube makes it quiet, the part is worn out and needs replacement.

The belt, tensioner and idler pulleys should all be changed together. Those parts tend to have about the same service life, and replacing them all at one time just saves work.
