any one know if a edelbrock performer air gap intake will fit under the 1st gen hood

I can tell you that the RPM Air Gap has the same dimensions as a regular Edelbrock Performer RPM - which is surprising considering the Air Gap appears visually to be much taller - I guess it's that they dropped the intake floor lower to make the open part instead of lifting up the actual plenum itself. I know it fit a regular 2nd Gen. truck OK - and if the 1st Gens. are at all similar they you should be alright... If anyone has tried at least a Peformer RPM model they they may be able to confirm the fit for you. Kevin

had one on the 327 in my 74 nova, its the best damn intake edlebrock has for street use. for race id use the victor jr, but i got my hands on fuel injection and dont think carbs are ever in my future again. also i found that i could never get an edlebrock carb and intake to tune right, always used edle and holly carb. the street avanger 670 is a nice compliment to the air gap.
