I have a 95 S10 4.3L 5 spd 4x4. I want to get rid of my clutch fan and get an E-Fan to replace it. I am just wondering if there is another vehicle on the road I could get an E-fan off of that would work on my truck with a little bit of modifications? Thanks for any help you may have.

Ford taurus. You would need to buy a control unit/relay with temp sensor/probe that turns it on/off. That would run about $35. Assuming the fan costs $30 that's a bargain.

What year Taurus will work?, and where would I go about buying a control/temp/probe/relay kit thing you mentioned?

Summit, jegs, etc. I am pretty sure I saw them at the local pep boys also in the same section as their permacool fans. Just make sure it has a temperature probe. Search "taurus fan" on this site, you should get plenty of info. I don't know how they mounted them or what years work. I used a 15" permacool fan on mine. $99 new at summit. It's the best value for a new fan for the amount of cfm's it puts out.

'91 ish to '94ish 3.8L. This site automaticaly does a cross refferece: www.car-part.com

For a relay you can get those at radio shack, if you don't have those in canada they may have relay's at the local auto parts stores. Also you are going to need fuses. I think i run 2 30A in parallel, i was popping single 30A fuses on startup.

For a temp controller there are all kinds of them. I have this one personaly: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=FLX-31147&N=115&autoview=sku
You can take a look at what they have though if you want something better.
