I need to clean my Holley 8007. A friend tells me I can soak it in carburetor cleaner. That is, submerse it in a container full of cleaner. I am concerned with hurting the gasket in the automatic choke if I do this. Has anybody cleaned their Holley and can you tell me the right way to clean it? :dunno:

I think he means take it apart, soak it all in carb cleaner (then blow out the passages with compressed air!) then grab a carb kit (about $40) and reassemble.

Aren't you glad the Fiero doesn't have a carb?? :)

Actually, I'm converting my MPFI system to a Holley/Edelbrock carb setup. I actually got the setup from BC on Ebay.

If you need parts, I'm going to sell off the whole fuel injection system in pieces on Fiero.nl.

The car will have ported exhaust, re-worked crossover, 2.5" exhaust running into a Moroso spiral flow muffler. It has the MSD ignition which will drive a 1984 s10 distributor.

Without modifying the heads, I expect at least 175 HP. If I rework the heads, (next year?) that will go up another 20 HP.

Thanks for the feedback.
