Hypothetically, if I were to swap to an explorer 8.8 in the rear and keep it leaf sprung, with a YJ Dana 30, or D30, and I wanted a dual opposed triangulated front coil or coilover sprung front end, would I be able to have the upper links meet in the center of the top of the axle? I ask because I'm currently deployed and not able to slide underneath my 1991 S10 blazer 2 door. Is this question better suited for pirate 4x4?

yes easy. but wht would you waste your time with a d30? at least find a d44

You mention S10 on Pirate and all you'll get is sarcasm. Those out-of-touch elitist think anything not hand built for rock climbing is junk. Unfortunately they are somewhat correct that a jacked up S10 isn't going to do anything but get stuck.

Are you talking about a wishbone upper link? If that's what you're talking about, I think you"re going to run into oil pan clearance issues.
he could run the uppers out at the edge of the axle and the bottom in the middle of the axle
Possibly, but he specifically asked about the upper links.
I'm considering all options. I have little time to do custom fabrication, as well as lacking most of the tools and experience. I just want to throw something other than IFS, so for now, when I get back, I'll throw the YJ D30 (high pinion) and explorer 8.8 underneath and weld perches above to go spring over. In the future, time and money permitting, I'd like to go with a squarebody Dana 44, and a rear 14BFF, SM465 paired to Dana 20 (this is just what I happen to have purchased already) but I would like to better suspension at least in the front. The only downside I foresee is throwing a lot of money at it with hydro steering and fabrication for a 4 link. I guess we'll see, maybe my dreams will stay dreams.

Mostly well to do jeep owners with precious little Jeep left after they've reworked 99% of them, looking down their noses at poor S10 people.

If most of us here were rich, we wouldn't waste time on Jeep Junk that spends more if its time broken down than running.

There is some good info there if you're willing to dig for it, but most of the members are arrogant.

EXTREMELY arrogant dudes that forgot they were a noob at one point. I've had two wranglers myself, I would say the best things have to offer are 1) solid axles, better models can be sourced from old pickups, 2) manual transmissions, same as point 1, and 3) the (full) removable top, which were available on previous older models, but can't be easily grafted on to something else. I still haven't thrown the idea of cutting my roof off to make a GM made jeep.

I appreciate it, but I am in a very cushy spot, currently. I'm a Hospital Corpsman in the navy, doing a job with navy security forces, but the local Marine unit has asked to borrow me (USMC has used navy medical, Religious, and dental personnel since the beginning) which is fine, I've spent 10 years stationed with them until a few years ago, but they might go out on a $#!+ hit the fan mission, son we'll see what happens. Thank you for thenofferz though.
