Yeah...he has dropped off the grid. That swap was for an entire rear end.

So to hook up the standard cab s10 parking brake to the blazer rear end I need new rear cables but which ones? 2 door blazer 4 door blazer?

You keep the cables you ave and use the new cable ends.

I was also hoping for pics.

I want to do this swap. Mostly for the stance.

I have a 92 Ext. 4.3 5spd 3.08 open and drums.

I read that the 4x4s are 5" wider, great. right now I have 2" spacers and still want more tire sticking out.

Of course, I also want lower gearing, posi and disks.

So, it looks easy, just undo the u-bolts, p-brake, brake lines and shaft. then, just put in the new rear, right?

I still am not clear in the p-brake after swap, what do I need?

Does anyone have a working GU6 G80 60" Disc for sale?

How would this swap affect stance....unless you mean tires sticking out of the wheel well. In that case you might as well get a rear from a ZR2 and really make it look like ass....

Ok, since the same questions are asked over and over and over..

1. 2x4 rear end = 54.25" wheel flange to wheel flange
2. 4x4 rear end = 59" wheel flange to wheel flange.
3. ZR2 4x4 is 61" wide
4. You DO NOT have to change the master cylinder
5. You DO NOT have to do anything with the F/R p valve
6. This is a direct bolt in to replace a drum rear end.
7. hi_im_sean sells cable adapters for the ebrake. You cut the ends off of your stock cables, install the adapters and they tighten with allen screws. They clip right on. Easy.
8. From early (82) to later s10s (after 86 IIRC), the threads on the rubber hose connection changed from chassis to axle. In some cases you may have to mess with the brake lines.
9. Some weird 4.3 auto rigs had a flange on the rear end and drive shaft similar to Ford abortions... I suggest avoiding these. You will have to change the yolk, which is not a good move.
10. The spring perch mounting points are the SAME for ALL S10s. You can bolt in a ZR2, 4x4 or 2x4 into any S10. The differences are the width of the axles which dictates how far the tires poke. The wheels also have different offsets.
11. S10s had the same spring/chassis mounting points. Early Blazers were the same, later Blazers are different. The springs from a 2nd gen Blazer won't work in an S10. I am not sure about 2nd gen S10s... those springs may be different than 1st gens.
12. The Bilstein shox from a newer Blazer bolt right into an S10, unless you are dropped more than 2".
13. The drive shaft is the same for drum to disc
14. The disc rear DOES NOT change chassis geometry. Ride remains exactly the same.

Hope this helps...

I am looking into a number of things for this typhoon knock off i have going. I did a disk swap some years ago on a c-10 with rear disks from a olds vista cruiser wagon and i had to drill out some thing in the bottom master cylinder before the rears would quit dragging ? residual pressure valve ring a bell ? it was years ago so....So if your rears are smoking it's the master cyl for drums ....
