Extended Cab

Well I've finally gotten around to dropping this beast. After reading through these forums, I've read stuff about having the driveline not lineup correctly after dropping the rear 3 inches or more, so if i'm only dealing with a 2 inch rear drop, I wont need to worry about this correct?

I'm only going for a 2/2 drop here and just wanted to make sure with all you dropping gurus that these are the right parts for my ride.

2 inch drop blocks:

2 inch drop spindles:

I've read through Tony's HOWTO guide on installing new springs, and he stated that a HOWTO on doing spindles would come, but I don't see anything on it. I've visited a link on howto do spindles installation, but it was in text-only format with no pictures.

If anyone could link me to any HOWTOs on spindles with pictures, that would be great appreciated!

Those aren't the right blocks...you have an extended cab,so you wanna get angeled(tapered) blocks to correct the driveline. I have 3inch blocks in mine with no problems, as long as you get angeled blocks you should be fine.

Since u have a ZQ8 and the 2 inch block doesn't that equal 3.5 inches total. So wouldn't u need some shims for the back.

Shims would only be needed if a flat block is used. If you get angled blocks there shouldn't be a problem

I've got a 97 zq8 ex cab sonoma dropped the same way, hadn't had a prob in two years
So you've used 2inch drop blocks in the back, non-tapered and no problems? Sounds good.

yup...just regular old square belltech blocks..like I said, over 2 years dropped and no problems. Hell, when I lowered my truck I didn't even know they made tapered blocks. I've got 3" blocks, so if you're gonna run 2" blocks I don't think you'll have any probs

I found some BELLTECH parts being sold at JCWhitney's site.

Spindles:

Blocks:

I assume these are still the correct parts. Anyways, I'm more concerned about a more detailed explanation of a front spindle install. If anyone has any info on this, please help me out, thanks!
