Hey all..

Do we have a guide for dropping the front and rear and all materials needed? I want to do a 3'' 4'' drop on my truck but I don't have a shop or know anyone with a lift, can it even be done with just a 2 ton floor jack? Instructions?

Not what I'm looking for. I need a step by step guide, not a Q and A Faq. I've already seen that one and its of no use to me. do you have any other links?

WRKN PRGS:
I still have my standard rims and tires for right now so I assume I cant go too low or else my tires will scrape when I turn. So I guess a 2" 3" drop would be as far as I can go right?

COMON! http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f12/how-to-5-6-drop-120974/ that IS a step by step guide, i suggest you read before you post, dont just assume it says FAQ on it and its worthless.

if you look at my link again it shows COMMONLY USED PARTS #s, HOW TO DROP YOUR TRUCK, and TRIMMING THE DUST SHIELD. 3 threads that YOU need to read if your going to drop your truck.

im not trying to be an ass but next time someone gives you a link, i suggest you read it.

Can I use the guide for the 5-6 drop even if I'm only doing a 3-4 or 2-3 drop? I shouldnt have to replace my leaf springs for the small drop I'll be doing...right?

yes, just skip the steps you dont need. you can get 4" drop in the back in multiple ways. you can either get 3" blocks and pull a leaf (may give 1-1.5" drop depending on the truck) or you could get a 4" block (not recommended). OR you can get drop leafs and blocks.

the more you search the more you know, also you need to read up on pinon angle if you have an extended cab, and also thinking about getting setback plates if you have a regular cab.

DO NOT FORGET TO MEASURE BEFORE YOU DROP! this is to assure you get the correct drop.

setback plates are mostly for regular cabs, the problem they have is sometimes the drive shaft gets pushed into the tranny when dropping the rear of the truck. you may need setback plates or not, depends on the truck but it wont hurt to have them installed anyways.

the plate lowers the truck an additional 3/4" and sets the axle back a 1/2" (not 100% sure how much it sets back the axle)

3/8" not 3/4"
1/2" is correct

I didn't need the setback plates on my ext. cab, but used them to center the rear wheels up a little more in the fender opening. It's an anal thing. :haha:
