I figured this would be a good place to post lengths of drive shafts to create a database to make locating a drive shaft easier and hopefully help people avoid having to pay to have one built. please add to the list if you have a confirmed application and length. If you have u-joint sizes that's a bonus. :tup:

I can supply lengths for specific driveshafts if there's A request. Our yard keeps measurements of driveshafts on file I should be able to supply. Our measurements are from weld to weld tho you didnt specify how you want them measured.

first gen ford explorer (about 91) front driveshaft 29 3/4" compressed 32 1/4 extended, center of front joint to center of rear joint on cv

2002 zr2 blazer 2 dr rear driveshaft 29 3/8" outside locks on rear joint, not the nylon!

This is a great sticky. I myself just had to drop off a rear shaft to get reworked. Searched the JY's for a couple weeks and couldn't find anything close. Everything I did find was crushed/kinked from the fork lifts... But for $150 (shorten, new dust cap, 2 new joints), I would much rather pay that than have my shaft blow out the trans output. Going to try and make the front one out of some parts I have laying around.

See if people can start specifying slip yoke vs. slip shaft. Makes a big difference for guys not running a 231 or 241 with a stock rear yoke. And then for joint type specify double cardan, u joint, or CV; just makes it 10x easier to eyeball the list when you know what you are looking for. But I will add to the mix.
