What are they?

Does it have to be a gas motor? or a motor at all?

I have some crazy thoughts on how to make a car that could out gun ANY top drag setup lol

Just want to know the regulations on this.

Think of it like a large wind up car lol it will crank up at the starting blocks then release the power for the drag. (not how it is going to work just a analogy) but I for-see a potential of 6,000HP+

Thanks for any input.

and 1/4 mile is 1320Feet correct?

It will look at the tree and tell it to go...

Test 'n' tune can be anything as long as it's safe.

The rules about starting devices are by each class. I don't think any class would wllow an optical sensor of some sort to release any sort of launching device, in competition anyway. You would be completly removing the driver from the equasion, which would then be a boring experiance in my opinion.

As far as ''top fuel'' goes

they are all 500cid solid block engines

all produce atleast 6k hp and have the potential of producing 1000hp per cyl

0-100 in 1 sec or less

all are fuel injected (they have computers)

all run blowers and run in excess or 50psi of boost

90% nitromethane

and pull as much g force as many fighter jets

Ok my new goal is now 10,000HP that will be no problem. Did not know top fuel was that high lol

It will have no engine per say no pistons just a CVT hydro trany and rearend. plus my power plant.

Can you re-fuel between each run?

Not to be a jerk, but technically they run on 88 - 89% nitromethane because NHRA rules prohibit more than 90% ( they test before and after each run ) , they run 88 - 89% because the fuel enrichens about 1 - 2 percent when ran down the track.

Yes you can refuel, How do you plan on getting the power to the ground. The challange with any high end drag racing is getting it to hook up. You have my intrest. good luck and get to work :)

Limit to number of tires used? or does it have to be a tire per say or a special made tire ?

I think your headed for an exhibition race/class. All classes have specific rules and regs. What your wanting to do doesn't fit into any of them. The plus side is, If you have a 10k hp, multi wheeled vehicle, faster than a top fuel dragster, you can get paid just for showing up and making a run.

your killing me............clue us in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol thought so,

I just see so much that could be made better about a top fuel it is funny starting with power to ground relationship lol.

I will clue in soon.

 I'd say.....

Anyway, I have never seen a computer controlling a mechanical fuel pump or the mechanical injection on a Top fuel dragster or FC, also last time I checked these engines were in the 800 cu in.+ range. I believe if you check the NHRA/IHRA rule books, it will actually state that Electronic fuel managment is not allowed. Same goes for Pro/Stock, hence why Pro/Stock still runs carbs.

Odd, how the only way to shut them down is by cutting the fuel to the engine, so I don't see how they run out of fuel before the end of the run, unless were talking about a foot before the finish line. Everytime I've seen a full pass made by a TF/D or TF/FC, the pipes have glow right to end of the pass, when the fuel is cut, the engine shuts off and the (back) tires then relax. All you have to do is watch some video of these vehicles to see the flame coming out of the headers, at night it's even better.
