Hello everyone,
Is there any way I can obtain the production date and GVWR of my 86 from the vin number? The sticker on the door jamb is faded and I cannot make out the info on the top. Was possibly trying to get a reproduction sticker for the resto.

Thanks!

Here's a link that you might try for the door sticker replacement: ECS Automotive Concepts - Late Model Replacement VIN Door Decals It's pricey, so it (obviously) depends on how much you are willing to pay. GM changed the style/ format of the stickers frequently, and some are single model year specific.
There are multiple online sources that have 'GM VIN decoding/ explanation' for free. IIRC, the VIN has the model year in it, but not the production date. Perhaps calling a dealer with your VIN could answer that, and perhaps the GVWR and other data. There are also several online sources that have a lot of the GM vehicle specifications. Also check the Owner's Manual - it usually has a list of specifications in it.
My Sonoma was lacking the door sticker, and here's a link to the thread I had on how I addressed its replacement. VIN label
