Just curious if anyone else here has a 9" Ford in their truck. I always notice a whining noise, but I also hear kind of a whining grinding noise, too, when I have the truck at a neutral balance on the highway. When I say neutral balance, I mean I am not acceletating and I am not decelerating. It sounds kind of like maybe the pinion and ring bouncing back and forth. I know these rears are noisy by nature as my friend has one in his Camaro that was professionally built and the gears make some noise. Hopefully someone else has one of these and can just tell me it's OK.

its me again

If you run after market gears in any rear they make more noise.as far as your grinding noise go's, I would look into that!!! jack your truck up from the center of the rear axle and turn one wheel back and forth to see how much play is there.
