I ordered a Fabtech add a leaf kit for my sonoma to stop it from sagging so much with a loaded bed and the new kit doesnt come with u bolts. The stock ones have maybe a inch of thread left sticking out, probably less. Do I need longer ones and if so can I just buy them at a auto parts store or should I look for some better ones online?

If you're uncomfortable with 1", go to a spring shop and have them bend a set up for you...takes about 10 minutes.

Okay thanks might just use the old ones. I just looked and I'm not sure we have any
dedicated spring shops around here, I'll call around

Stealth Conversions makes a nice set of longer ones if needed. Used them myself when I installed their blocks.

I always use the old bolts as they are better quality. 8.5" axles use the same tubes as the 7.5" axles. It only swells up the tube at the differential housing.

I did AAL with the 2" RC kit. They get on all the way, but that is it. If you wanted to add another leaf you will need longer u-bolts.

Edit: Looks like you already figured that out.
