I can usually get my hand down beside the engine and get a 15 mm ratcheting open ended wrench in there. I've only for enough room for one click though. It's not worth taking the coil and everything else out of the way. But if the engines hot I do get burned a few times on the air tube and exhuast. And with a 3 inch body lift makes it worse. I have to sit on top of the motor to get it lol
I always use a 15mm socket(3/8 not 1/2) next a swivel, and then usually two 3/8 extensions. I can get the bolt loose and out in about 3 minutes now. Any other combination I have tried is more difficult.
After verifying I could turn over this 1985 S10 V6 safely with no mechanical problems, I decided to try it with gas. The last time I tried to start it, about 4 years ago, it would turn over with starting fluid, but wouldn't keep running.
I'm worried about contamination/sediment in the gas tank...
My late brother's 1985 S10 with the 2.8 V6 hasn't been turned over in ~4 years, but the engine would crank freely at that point. I've been going through all the steps of starting a disused car, draining the gas tank, changing oil and other fluids, etc... About a month ago, I sprayed fogging oil...
You guys should make this a sticky! It would eliminate a lot of redundant questions. Here is a PDF I made of the parts list and I also included the start-up instructions for the motor at the end of the document.
That's piggybacked on my...
I have a 92 s10 2.8l 5 speed Reg. cab 2wd. Thinking about doing a swap soon as funds allow. What about a 3400 from a camaro, stay with tbi but go with 4.3 tbi and injectors, a good size cam, headers, exhaust and a set of 4.10 gears with posi. What kind of times and hp could i expect from this?
TBI injectors are not getting power when the key is in the on position nor do they get power when while cranking. They do however get a short pulse as soon as you stop cranking the engine. Engine will run if you manually feed fuel to it. Any help would be appreciated.
