I bought the so called Muscle Car Engine Oil Pan Kit 19212593 from a seller on Amazon. It came with the tube and dip stick. I either have the wrong tube or the wrong dipstick. It will not register. Need another 3". Can someone who has this pan and has a working dipstick and tube give me some measurements? A part number might be nice also. I check summit sells a performance dipstick tube not sure if it is the right one.

Tube 12570787
Dip stick 12570788
Thank You
Amazon answers says that 12570788 dip stick is 26.1 I have a 24 3/4" long dipstick so that is wrong. The tube may also be wrong because I need a 27" dipstick to get the correct reading. I could order both but I think for now I am going to order the 12551581 dip stick it is supposed to be 27 1/4" long. If so I can make a mark now that the 5 quarts are in the engine.

I purchased my oil pan kit through Current Performance and that was the part numbers that was on the dipstick and dipstick tube when I received them. So I stamped a couple pictures of the part numbers to keep them reference for down the road.

You asked at the right time. I'm going to saram wrap my engine later today to move it to storage. I'll pull the dipstick and the tube and measure it. I either post it later today or tomorrow. Here's the link to the kit I purchased. Give you an idea.

mine
Tube 20 1/4" total length 23"
Dipstick from lip to end of stick 24 3/4"

Buying from Amazon was not a deal if I have to replace these. The tube will bolt to the upper hole in the head not the one in header flange. It will work with a 1/2" spacer. I ordered a stick that should work with the tube.

Unfortunately it falls back on that old saying, You get what you pay for.

Not sure that's entirely accurate. I bought a boatload of stuff from Holley that's just a bit off. For the amount of money Holley wants. you'd think they would be spot on.

Well Holly, their products being incorrect would probably be no more than 10% unlike Amazon products are more likely 80 to 90% will be off the mark. So if the price is too good you're probably going to get what you pay for. So most of these companies just need to mark their products not made in America.

The problem is I could have returned these if I had know when I started this project a year ago. I just now primed and filled the oil for an install next week. One note I thought this pan was 5 qt it is a 6qt pan. So that makes a big difference. I am making my own dipstick from a longer one. Thanks
