Hi folks,

I haven't found other informations in past posts. So here's my question:

I'm in search of the correct REAR Differential Pinion Seal for my 1994 S10, automatic.
I previously ordered from Rockauto a Timken 8610 and a Timken 2043.
The Timken 8610 fitted the front seal, but the Timken 2043 doesn't fit the rear diff seal.

Any idea which seal I should look for?
Part number or equivalent... and if I may ask, also informations on where to find it.

-> currently mounting a new 4L60E; new motor mounts; remote oil filter seals; transmission mount; parking cable; stabilizer bar bushings; O2 sensor.

I'm a little unclear on what you are looking for.
You should have a 7.5" rear differential and a 7.2" front differential if 4x4.
The 8610 seal for the 7.5/7.6 rear differential front seal (because it points to the front of the vehicle)
The 2043 seal if the same location but for a 8.5/8.6 axle.
The rear 7.5 diff cover gasket is a Fel-pro # RDS55079
Timkin part # 8611N is the front differential pinion rear seal. (because it points to the rear of the vehicle)
Axle seals are National # 8660S if you have a Canadian built "K" axle and 710166 if you have a axle code "C".
When I rebuilt my rear differential I checked bothe seals and didn't see any dimensional difference.
The only real difference I found was the 710166 has a flange and the 8660S doesn't.

Thank you very much Tranzman! It does help. Yes I have a 4x4.
I maybe was unclear earlier, but I am in fact speaking of the rear differential pinion seal, pointing towards the front of the vehicle, which stays right before the yoke. Of this one I still need a replacement.
In the meanwhile I went down to the shop and took a couple measures. I have a 1.5" shaft (~38.5mm)
I made some research and found:
NATIONAL 8610
BCA NS 8610
that share the same dimensions (Housing Bore 2.656" ; Shaft 1.521" ; Width 0.424")
while
SKF 15315 has a Width of 0.607"

I'm taking some more measurements with these new informations you gave and the ones I found and will post the result of the search here, if someone has the same issue.

If you clean the old seal off before removing. You can get the GM # off of it. That will let you cross reference their part # to the Timkin or National brand part #.

The shop was closing so I had no time right now to remove the old broken one, but I measured it carefully.
I ended up comparing it with the ones I found.
My measurements pointed towards this:
Housing Bore: 2.656"
Flanged outside diameter: 2.960"
Shaft: 1.521"
Width: 0.424"

Which made me order the NATIONAL 8610 seal.
Also the BCA NS 8610 should fit.
