Greetings, have posted on the past about my 1998 Sonoma throwing and melting plugs, and the last time I replaced the plug it ran great for about 10 minutes at idle, the sure enough after driving, it started running rough again.
Finally decided enough of enough and ordered a built head. Got it from Clearwater cylinder heads, and it's "new" old stock of the heavy duty factory heads. Job went really smooth and took 7 hours.
Figured out all my issues were from the helicoil I installed in #3. It was too far in and the exhaust valve was chopping the plug off. And the last time, the plug fought back and you don't of the valve with it.
Thankfully it didn't cause any further damage, and the truck runs like new now.
