Tore the radiator support out of a 2000 year model at jalopy jungle, and deconstructed everything; pulled radiator, trans cooler, all connection hardware, etc. But I cut some lines that went through the support on the driver's side and cut the wiring harness that runs across the front in the interest of expediency. Is there a way to pull and install the "new" radiator support without pulling radiator and trans cooler? And without cutting that wiring harness that runs across the bottom? While tearing the one out at the junkyard I didn't see a plug the disconnect. Also any other pointers on thing to pay attention to when doing this is appreciated. 99 zr2, 4.3, auto trans., 4x4. Thanks.

remove hood, remove fenders, remove bumper, then you will see with ease how it all works. and is easily moved/replaced. yes, you can leave radiator in place and pull core support off. I'd be concerned with the freon in the system.
Awesome news; draining the whole coolant system sucks if not necessary. With the added removal of the fenders, which isn't hard - it just adds time, how long will I likely need to set aside to do this? I have all the hand tools to do this just not air impacts, wrenches, etc. 3 days is a pinch when weekends are 2 days. Thanks.

it'll kind of look like this.
the harness unplugs from the horns and all lights and pulls from passenger side through to the drivers side. Like i stated above, once you get the parts off, it is very easy to see what needs to be done. honestly, first time, an 8 hour day, with breaks, should be more than sufficient to complete the job. If you can, go buy a cordless 3/8 driver from homedepot, the Milwaukee brand will work, and you'll have the job completed in a few hours.

Milwaukee makes great stuff, just a 3/8 cordless drill? Or impact? Thanks.

You definitely don't have to pull all of that other stuff off... unless you want more work to do.

I hate to bring up an old thread but I'm switching out the core on my 97 for a 2000ish core for the lights and other goodies that came with the blazers, but I am stumped on the frame mounting bolts, is there a trick to getting them out? I was just about to start jacking up on it, strap it to the rafters

You put a ratchet on the top and an impact on the bottom, and zip them right out.

awesome! thanks, I had a bad experience the last time at the junkyard trying to get a body lift off of a truck so i wasnt sure what to expect, the overnight soak in wd and nothing else in the way they came right out, now I need to figure out how to splice the wiring and put it ALL back together again. Thanks again
