Ok I wanna do this swap with an 87 4x4 s-15 because I love the old style dash, but I will be using aftermarket gauges. What do I need to do to make the heating and air work on the truck?

Pretty sure he wants to put the earlier dash in his 87, how is that confusing?

I would think you would need everything behind the dash to swap over. Get the wiring diagrams for both to compare, but I doubt the wiring is very complicated in those older models.

Part of the confusion is my part. The op posted in a dead thread and I moved his post to a new thread of his own. What I should have done is just closed it and had him make a new thread with all of the pertinent details...sorry.
