My '95 is a reg. cab shortbed, with A/C. It's 3025 lbs with a 1/2 tank of gas. I just had it scaled Wednesday.

There might actually be more steel in the stepside bed.

doesnt he have an 87 anyways though?

most all these trucks weigh right about 3000 or a hair over

my longbed reg cab is 2980

with just plywood for a bed and its just a 2wd, and thats with me in it, but im a lightweight
so hmm its about 2850 by itself

i guess thats pretty light no wonder its so fast hmm i never really thought about it before hmm,

98 also had the 2.2 not just the 4.3
this is the second gen forum so this would not be for an 87

The lower half of the stepside bed is plastic, I've heard multiple times that they are lighter.

might look lighter, but remember curves make a heavier piece than a flat side.

who knows, until we get a stepside and a fleetside on a scale we wont know.
