it basically works like a TBI injector. On a TBI motor there are two injectors that are batched fired into the 2 banks. On the CPI the single injector has six holes on the bottom which feed through the six poppets. The injector is batched fired so all cylinders are fed fuel at the same time. The only common problem with this is that the poppet nozzles can get stuck open by carbon build up, which is not any different than the 96+ models which are still fed through poppets. They do not commonly go bad. If you fill up with quality fuel and regularly run some kind of injector cleaner through, you'll be fine. If one does get clogged you can pull the poppet out and spray it down with some carb/choke cleaner.
