Alright the 235/70/15 all weather radials aren't cutting it in the Cleveland winter.. First of all my Reg. Cab LS doesn't even look like it's 4wd unless you know only the 4x4's come with the 5 star looking alloys... So I was already considering bumping up the tire size. I was just figuring on a modest jump to 30x9.5's since my 4x4 is a daily driver and isn't expected to hit the trails every weekend. Now that I've dealt with some snow and couldn't even get out of my driveway this morning with the lack of traction from the all weather radials I've decided to just go ahead and do it now. I've heard the suspension needs to be bumped up a bit so I can fit the 30x9.5's..... Rear: at least a set of helper leafs. Front: just a torsion bar adjustment, Align it and I should be good???? Is that correct? Now i know the leaf's won't be a problem, but what about the torsion bars? Easy? What exactly do I need to know??

Thanks,,, Chris

I'm not sure about the new body style rigs but 30's shouldn't rub on a stock 1st gen truck. That is as long as you keep the stock offset rim. You could put the tires on and see if they rub. If they do, just crank the torsion bars and add some longer shackles. The TB crank is simple, you just turn a bolt. Make sure to turn each bolt the same number of turns.
