hey guys.
quick question.
i need help.
i have three kickers
one of my kickers has a bad coil. if run with out the 2nd coil on the sub it works just fine. but the bad thing is that i have the other 2 subs that are running with all the coils hook up.. so is it bad to run with 1 coil on one sub?
AS of RMS being the same. max power been the same ?
The power going to each sub will not be the same, as the load on the damaged one will be different form the other two. It could pull twice as much (if the coils are/were in series) or half as much (if the coils were/are paralleled) as the other two. Not to mention that the TS parameters of the damaged one will differ from the other two, i.e.: will not sound the same as the other two.
yes they are in the same box. but im not turn it all the ya up tell i either come up on another kicker(friend of mine goin to get one for me for cheap price) or get some diffent subs that use the same cubic ft.
heres what i would do, yea it sounds ghey but it works, take the sub out, put some wood over the hole, put in empty 2 liters, they dont add weight but they take up volume. Just duct tape them to the bottom or something.
