Has anyone changed over to better coil packs, on the stock ignition?

I was wondering if it would be possible to use the coil pack assembly from a GM v-8 and double the spark.

Any thoughts on this?

A friend of mine is using the coils off of a LS1 motor on his 2.4 liter Cavalier. But he is also using a Motec engine managment that is able to controll the spark per cylinder. :D

MSD makes a set of coil packs that will work on the 2.2s.

I know that four cylinder and six cylinder DIS systems use the same coil. I don't know about the v8's though?? I'll check up on that.

Accel and Jegs makes a replacement coil pack. I got them on mine and it works good.

Both Jeg's and Summit Racing carry a coil pack from MSD. It is a MSD direct replacement high output blaster coil, part number 8224. I have them on my 98' tutu and they seem to have helped my mileage as well as a bit better throttle response. Easy to change through the passenger side, just take the tire off and flip up the rubber flap.
