Wow, kinda started a civil war. sorry about that. So after getting so many replies i have a couple other questions to stir the pot. One of which is in response to carbon fiber being the "norm." Being a little uneducated on this, im wondering if anyone has seen a CF hood on an S10 at a show or in your area at all?
responses to that will kind of dictate an answer to the question of CF hoods on S10s being different.
In regards to posts about performance, you are indeed correct. A CF hood would have little or no effect on your performance. My ideas on CF hoods are coming from a strictly show standpoint.
In regards to my post about S10s being compared to Honda Civics, that post was made to emphasize the fact that there are as many S10s around as there are Honda Civics. It was not made at all to put the two into the same category. Honestly, who could make that comparison anyway?
So my bottom line on hoods is that all the hoods made for S10s being cowl induction, Cervinis SS, or CF hood, they are essentially nonfunctional as performance gainers. My point was to put something new and different in a show category and i think a carbon fiber hood would achieve that. Again, all opinion
