Does anyone have any connections within VIS, APC, or Erebuni, or anyone else for that matter on a real release date on the racing style carbon fiber hood. Ive called several places,and everyone just gives me the "maybe a few more months" crap. So if anyone has any contacts on a release date, give me a shout. Thanks in advance.

PS: If the hood was available through someone here, id be glad to work with you on that. peace

Thanks for the help, but i wasn't looking for a burn on being ricey, i was just looking for a release date on a hood. That is the one problem, i think, with this forum. a lot of members don't accept anything thats a little different from the norm.

So if you please, id like to know the release date on that hood if anyone could enlighten me. Thatd be great

I know the OEM CF hood is out but the release date on the racing style sculpted hood is still in question. As of right now, Erebuni seems to have the only Pic of it. So, thanks in advance for any assistance

CF hood on red truck w/ either Candy red or red pearl over it, so its still got a "red" color to it... how do u feel about that

Damn dude thatd be really sweet if you painted the Carbon Fiber. Im really open to new ideas on that. Would you buy the OEM or racing style CF hood? Either way, that is a good idea. Personally, for the look im going for(which is kind of a Euro/Import/ricey to some of these forum users) i would leave mine unpainted. Thats really the beauty of carbon fiber man, you can go either way. post some pics if and when you get that done. I have a feeling it would silence some of the doubts about CF hoods looking good on this forum.

Oh, and by the way, if you get the racing style, where are you gonna get it? I don't think theyve released it but if you have a line on one, give me a shout.

I think the idea is awesome. Include some black crome or black powder coated rims on it would rock hardcord especially on a silver or white truck. I am rocking the maroon. but i would do that too.

It's not as bad as those people who put a 3" cowl induction hood with vents on a Dodge 1 ton Dualie. I agree though. I would get the OEM style hood.

Thanks to all those who responded with an intelligent response to this post. I still haven't tracked down the racing style hood but some of the mindless posts ive seen bring me to an interesting point. Why are those members who are totally against a new idea even bother to waste their time responding to a forum with a smart, sarcastic answer? Just because people don't want to put on a cowl induction or Cervinis hood, some members are totally against doing something different. Just trying to make an obvious point.

In my ownership of an S10, i have come to realize(unfortunately) a little piece of bad news. The S10 is the honda civic of the small truck world. I wouldn't give mine up for anything but it forces the owner to do something original and different in order to set themselves apart from other S10s. Just my two cents.

Actually, it's guys like you that make S10s the Honda Civic of the truck world.

Just like Honda Civics, S10s are not meant for racing. Especially the type of racing that would justify having an expensive carbon fiber hood. There's no reason other than the "racing look" for a CF hood on a S10. And the "racing look" is something we all associate with being a "ricer". The reason you're getting those negative replies is because the other S10 guys don't want to see another S10 turned into rice.

Now if you want to do something different and original, then do something different and original. Don't copy the ricers by putting high performance looking exterior parts on a vehicle that doesn't justify having them.

Everybody is afraid of change. What purpose does a cowl induction or ram air hood do if S-10s aren't made for racing? Absolutely nothing except give it a different look and stay with in the "accepted guidelines of the s-10 crowd." No one has a clear definition of what rice really is. My definition is anything that looks cheap and shitty. Many of you have probably never even noticed how similar some of the sport compacts are to Lemans cars. What do you expect people to do for performance cars when there aren't very many left? Stuff changes.

The only thing different and original anymore is stock or custom fabrications. I'm with Atrus on this one.

And we are never going to reach an agreement since this is all opinions.
