Good thing you never had to use it. And, "good luck" trying for a claim on a 20+ year old tire! It might be worth a call to the BFG archives department.I have a 2000 ZR2 with 94,000 miles on it. Getting
ready to put on new tires and I thought maybe the spare
could be used if the tires were changed one at a time.
Unrolled the spare and much to my surprise here is what I found:
A NEW never been on ground spare...

You might check about getting the whole thing, it may be cheaper! Sometimes buying in bulk is the way to go.id pay for shipping a big piece of the tread from the tire to me. I collect stuff like that for my man cave

Figured as much.As Foghorn Leghorn Says:
It was a joke Son
I mean it is real but joking about defect!
Yep, same thing on my 2002 Chevy S-10Ls club cab 153 K. Gm/Chevy didn't think out the rust prevention problem on the undercarriage of these trucks very well. I wired brushed mine the best I could and used a rust converter and sprayed the hell -out with lots of Rustoleum Black Spray paint. Been used now a couple of times. Good enough for a spare tire and seems to be safe enough. HankGood thing you never had to use it. And, "good luck" trying for a claim on a 20+ year old tire!
