Yes people, someone has finally done the Broken Hazard Switch repair because we were stupid when we pulled the dash bezel How-to!!!

This applies to all 95 -97... 98+ you need to remove the upper cover

Tools and Parts required:

Parts:
GM Hazard switch repair Kit part # 15174447

Tools:
Needle Nose Pliers

The hazard Switch kit will come with a small tube of dialectric grease. Smear this on the entire thing before installation.

First look at your old hazard hole. You should see it broken similar to this.

Reach in with your needle nose pliers and grasp the edge of the old switch
housing and pull upwards and remove.

You should now have the entire assembly out..

Now simply insert your new hazard switch in hole and push down firmly..

New Switch:

And wala! You're done... Your final repair should look like this.. (though less blurry unless you're not wearing glasses then it will look just like this!

Takes about 3 minutes. If you can't do this repair, you're a complete moron! :D

Enjoy!

how the hell do all you people break this switch off?

removing the dash bezel is the only thing i could think of...but???
That's pretty much what happenes... The proper way is to drop the steering column (remove the 2 15mm nuts under it) but it can be a pain... So with the pressure applied to the switch trying to remove the bezel without dropping the steering column, they tend to snap off...

Just wanted to say that this was the easiest repair i have ever done....Many people told me my switch could not be replaced without replacing the whole directional assembly.....thanx for the info...part cost me 12 bux instead of the $275 directional assembly...

Well glad I could help someone. That's what we're all here for:) :D
