http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f105/top-5-reasons-against-doing-a-v-8-swap-211245/depends, to a grandpa, itll have enough power, to a 16 year old that just got his liscense, no..
its been done, it will work, but a v8 would be better
Do some reading. Not every thread in this section needs someone suggesting a V8 swap. How many have you done?
lol V8 swaps cost more than $800. At the minimum plain old 350ci engines are running around $1500-$2000 for low miles. You obviously didn't read the thread enoughive done enough reading, i know a 2.2 will push 24's no problem.
but if he wants to go fast with 22s, building a 2.2 for power wont be cheap, $2500 for a turbo to make 200+hp, or swap in a v8 for less and gain a little more power.
you can build a 2.2 but its expensive.. easiest way to make power is $2000+ in turbo. end of story
i can swap in a brand new crate lq9 with tranny i have for $800+ wiring harness, which is over 200hp and has 0 miles.. or build a turbo setup for $2000 minimum
