Anyone ever attempt this or have a DIY article?

Shops want around $2k and month + timeframe. Seems a little ridiculous if you ask me.

jack up level, tac weld rods from body to ground. measure 2.5 or 3 inches from ground up on the rod... sawzall cut each rod. make room for A/C motor, cut and drop the rods back to the floor. viola, 3 inch drop. same with bed.

But what about dashboard/steering column/etc?

kalgor...alot more goes into a body drop then what youve typed out.
unless you want the floor of your ride to fallout when your cruising then i would pay somone to do it.this aint no small body mod.plus if you get a reputable shop to di it you can sue there asses if the floor does fall out then get another truck out of them.

I body dropped my last S10, you can do it in a garage with the right tools but you will still need AT LEAST 1-2 weeks to do it, most of the time is spent diassembling and relocating everything then putting it back together, not chopping, grinding and welding. Its a pain in the arse but its worth it if you want the rocker panels to lay, 2-1/4" is probably the best to do if you want to keep the a/c BTW.
