"Best" depends on your budget, amplifier, and other speakers. I installed JBL Stage 6402 4x6 speakers (power handling: 35W continuous & 105W peak) in the OEM dash locations. They work great for my setup.....

In my experience with 1st Gen dash speakers, the only ones that seem to fit are the stock ones 😂 if you find a decent set of aftermarket ones that fit without much trouble, I want to hear about it!

Also, since yours is a standard cab, I’d recommend building some speaker boxes that fit behind the seat. I was able to get some 6x9s behind the seat that made a huge difference without taking too much space. If you want pictures I can try getting you some. The boxes aren’t perfect but it wasn’t too bad of a job to do
