yes you can and use a tape measure to see if same wheel base

and ext cab wheel base would be same as long bed reg cab wheel base

short bed reg cab be alone by itself unique

all ext cab should be short bed and therefore same as reg cab long bed

there may be an exception or special order though.,.,

woah there killer, wrong info.

Reg Cab Short Bed and Extended Cab beds are the same.. 6 ft bed.

Reg Cab Long Bed is the unique one. (8 ft bed I believe)

Then there's the Crew Cab bed.. which is 4 ft????

no i havent...ive seen newer full size beds on square body c/k trucks and thought those looked pretty good...so figured it would just translate to a smaller size...but does it really look super bad?...mostly i just cant find a 1st gen bed in decent condition and figure ill have a better chance finding a 2nd gen it good condition....

Gm did that from the factory on the 73-87 full size body style...Thought it was ugly. I think it looks better on this one, but the one grip I have is that the bed is actually slightly shorter on the newer trucks because of the bump on the back of the cab of the newer trucks. The gap is just too wide between the body of the 1st gen body and the 2nd gen bed. No if you scooted it up a fuzz it might look better. I don't think a fleetside bed would look get at all because of the lines.
