Beamed S10

So ive been considering picking up a new project truck lately to swap my built alh into but im stuck. Ive owned an s10 before and I understand that the chassis is heavily used in the hotrodding side of things, we've got 2 s10 frame hotrods ourself, however I have no clue how strong these frames are on the prerunner side of things. I barely see s10 prerunners anywhere yet the rangers are all over the place. Now I dont really want to buy a ranger to put the tdi into because I know nothing about that chassis but I still want beams so has anyone swapped beams and links on an s10/s10 blazer 2wd and had a good experience?

alh---tdi ---beams ---links
Im nearing 50 years old.
been in the custom world for the last 30
fabricate one off parts almost daily
ZERO clue what ALH, TDI, Beams and links mean.

But i do like my hamburgers slightly pink in the middle, and the suasage links covered in gravy.

Guess he's talking about vw stuff and those god awful twin I beams Ford doesn't use anymore for good reason.

Alh is an engine code for a vw diesel and beams are the ford I beam. I want to get some equal length I beams because I dont hear anything good about the travel from s10 ifs, I know equal length beams with a swingset is one of the most effective setups for prerunning, links are just a 4 link rear used on prerunners
So you're wanting to re-engineer both front and rear suspensions and steering? You'd probably be better to start with a pile of tubing and build from scratch, the best you'll be able to pull off with an existing chassis like an S-10 is a poor, cobbled together compromise

ahhhhhhh... cause we should know that in an S10 forum.
Either way, sounds like you want to fab a $150k prerunner

just today a thread popped up with nearly everything you asked for, i think you and this guy will become best friends
I mean if you already have the parts then it shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg to build. Minus the coil overs( that’s going to be pretty expensive). The diesel swap will be interesting, but Jeep guys do it quite often. I’d say go for it, just do your homework on link geometry. Up front it’s pretty straightforward since it’s a radius arm.
