So I need some assistance from the locals.

I'm going to visit Tootsie in March as I want to check out the Raleigh area. Relocating has been something that's been on my mind and from what i saw on job sites, Raleigh has a lot to offer in my field(Electrical engineering). I plan to spend at least one night drinking in the city as to me, most of the south is "hick" and with growing up 10 miles from Manhattan, I have a skewed outlook on bars/night life. So what I would like to know is, what are some good bars etc to check out. Now i'm not a fan of dance club type bars, but I do like sports bars etc that women actually frequent (IE a typical NYC/Hoboken/North Jersey bar).

What would you guys recommend me checking out on a saturday night? I want to make sure I could actually have a good time fitting in etc if I did move down there. Most of my time spent in the Carolinas was not in any major city so I'm assuming things are different in the cities.

Just go to a street called Glenwood South. Tons of bars lined up and down the street. They have everything from Irish and English pubs, cigar bars, clubs, etc. Mostly college students go there.
