.....curious, after sitting for nearly a year, will it start up first try, or dead battery?
Results??
The optima battery was dead as can be.. the clock sucked all the power out of it. Not sure if it’ll recover even with one of those fancy “bring your AGM back from the dead chargers..”
So for now, she’s stuck on the lift..

got a new battery, put in 4 gallons of 91, primed the pump, and it fired right up. I mean it's a 2006 fuel injected engine, of course it would. But while it was on the lift, I was goofing around, and noticed it needs inner/outer tie rods. which sucks, those aren't that old. But oh well.... Also it has developed a missive power steering leak. The joy of vehicles that sit.

I could have went with my wife to AZ on vacation and drove them around while you were gone.🤣🤣🤣
Funny you say that. I had Alice at my friend’s house, and he almost wrecked the truck moving it around. Not sure how he did it, but im guessing he has never been in anything with a loose convertor, and since it didn’t move in gear, he probably floored it, and got quite the surprise..luckily he was able to stab the brake before hitting the tow truck. He did bend the drivers fender a bit, but nothing im worried about. I’ll be sanding the truck in a few months to start the graphics..

.... i'll get it back on the lift to get it up in the air and see what's going on...
The rag joint ripped as i was moving a few vehicles around this past weekend.. glad that didnt happen on the road..

went to the parts yard this weekend and picked up a leak free steering gear box and a few other parts to get the steering fixed. Then into the shop to get the paint job i started before i went to iraq finished..

replaced the steering gear box with the junk yard unit, flushed the PS fluid, had an old u joint layin on the parts shelf that fit the GM gearbox, so did the rag joint delete while the shaft was off. ordered up the LSH no notch tie rods/center link for no bump steer...Hoping to get this in the booth asap, id like to get the paint finished and back to a driving vehicle. The inline 5 is fun, but it might be time to do one of those super expensive LS swaps everyone keeps talking about.

It's been a few months, but my own personal projects always get pushed back.
Got the rendering for the graphics almost fully done, such a nice retro-throw back.

This wekend is Memorial Day. In this thread, i have gone overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes, keep those we've lost in your thoughts this weekend..

I have thought of that, but not sure i want to go that route.. then it's another V8 swapped S10

Keep it different and turbo the inline 5 lol
Sort of have thought of this as well. But, might pull out the 5 cyl and put in a 6 cyl. But, still not sure, up in the air...

in about 3 or 4o weeks, going to pull this one out of storage and into the shop to finish the paintwork. I haven't driven this one in nearly 2 years now, and it sucks.
I really like being the only 5 cyl s blaze in the world, but i do have a t400/454 combo sitting around collecting dust that might make its way into this truck..
not set in stone, but, i have a few engine combos laying around the shop...
