ok. hopefully this will clear up a few things. like why i have been asking so many questions and why some of them may have been a bit wired.

i got in an accident. 3 car pile up on the highway on the way to my parents house about a month ago. i got rear ended and pushed into the car in front.
and i have been fighting with the insurance company for the past month to get a reasonable settlement out of it. well after all the back and forth they eventually totaled my blazer. thats the bad news.

The good news is that i should be able to fix all of the damage. (all body work except for the front core support). i trust me i have been all over it looking for anything else. and i should be able to fix it with enough money left over to turbo my truck. VERY good news.

so here is a list of the stuff i got lined up so far. i have been planning this for ... well a long time. i keep pretty meticulous (read: anal) records. so i got the costs pretty well figured out. if you have any suggestions or see something i missed please let me know. (DONT SAY STUPID SH*T LIKE GET A V8). that said i would love your input. heres the list.

2114 fuel rails tb adapter fuel injectors 42lb/hr

Re: bad news ... Good news

also i am trying to figure out how i want to do the exhaust. i might copy meyers and just use the stock manifolds and weld some pipes on. or i might get some syty manifolds if i can find/afford them. i am also trying to see about a syty intake manifold. hopefully i can get one of those because the 2114 all said and done is over $1000 and i dont have that kind of money in the budget.

Do an 01 ecm swap, get hptuners instead, you dont need an fmu if your gonna use a 2114 and a nice intake pump like a walbro

97 is just a rough year for tuning, the 01 swap isnt all that difficult....on paper at least :) between a 98 and 01.......but i dont know the differences between 97 and 98

well zygoat after all the hurdles i'm having with my manifolds idk if the sytys would of been better.

Top three concerns are steering shaft clearance, motor mounts (considering i melted one already) and the tight crossover. Its doable but with hurdles i'm glad i'm done with mine

yea well i already have pcm scann so i am halfway into my tuning so ill prolly just stick with what i have, i really don't want to **** with all the wires too.

i got the fuel pump spec'd out. and i know i dont need the fmu with the 2114 i just copy . pasted that from the spread sheet i have, and i have them both so i can calculate the cost a bunch of different ways.

does anybody know where i can get the syty intake manifold? i think that might be a better solution to the intake (ie less $$$).

what about the map sensor is the stocker good to 10 psi. i believe it craps out a 14 am i right?

www.wallerperformance.com - John Waller should have just about all of the syty parts you would need. If he doesnt then he can help you find what you are looking for.

May I suggest a Tial waste gate, http://www.tialsport.com/prod_wg_38.htm

One of the more important things on a turbo application and these are considered to be the best on the market by most.

Don't go with the AEM UEGO. PLX M-300 all the way.

Re: bad news ... Good news

by the time you buy a syty upper and lower intake manifold, and pay for it to be modded to fit vortec heads, and pay to have a set of vortec heads redrilled, you will probably have more into the setup then a 2114. atleast a 2114 you can use your stock TB and it keeps it close to the stock location which means less stuff will have to be changed

or you could just use the older style heads, which i wouldnt recommend

Re: bad news ... Good news

yea im not totally sure what i am gonna do as far as the intake goes yet. i don't really like the fmu idea. i am pretty sure that over time my spider is going to blow up. but the 2114 is pretty dam expensive. i would like to do it i just don't know if i can afford it. if only we didn't have popets...

the front. my girl friend said that it was pretty funny that i fixed it with tape so the body lines match up better than alot of ppls cars normally do. (had to tape it to keep it from rubbing in my wheel.)

rear.

the police report labels the damage from 1 to 3(worst) mine was all 1's the guy that hit me almost all 3's (scion tc) and the person i was pushed into had some 2's (vw jetta) Gotta love the good old American iron.

Re: bad news ... Good news

what do you think of the rear window trim. i just painted it a few months ago. and the passenger side door like 6 months ago. (some one tried to brake into it, when the previous guy owned it.) they took a screw driver to the door handle. so i did some body work and fixed it all up then painted her.
