how does your truck ride since u chopped the coil and heated them up too. cause i was going to do that to my jimmy too but i was not sure how it rides. also how hard was it to get an alignment?
thanks, michael
here is real picture of my jimmy (not photoshopped) it is lower 3" in front and 5" in the rear and sittin on 2001 xtremes with 225/55/16 in front and 245/45/16 in rear
i cut my front coils today so i now have a 7" drop in the front and 5"in the rear. i am on the bump stops on the front so i cut them but it keep bottoming out to bad so i had to put another pair of bumpstops that i had on it just to be able to have some what of a comfortable ride back. my question is does some one know a way for my truck to ride a little better in the front with out raising it back up
Hey,
I suggest buying some nitro drop shocks. They offer great ride with the lowered suspension compared to stock. Up front on mine I have 2in. spindles, 2in. springs- with a coil cut out which gives it a 6in. drop and I couldn't ask for a better ride being that low. It's very solid and takes shock like a champ. $70 will set u up in the front. The rear setup is the only part that is bumpy right now. I'm running 3in. blocks, and mono'd the factory leaf leaving the overload for strength paired up with air shocks. I also cut out the bumpstop brackets too. I also ran 3/8s line from an onboard compressor to the shocks, which worked good for a while but I think I either sprang a leak in the fittings, line or BLEW the shocks LOL. I haven't had time to investigate it lately though. I also plan on buying some 4in. angled blocks since I don't like the rake I have right now.
