98 SS ON NOS--after reading this board it seems to me that you know backspacing pretty well. can u help me out? i have a 91 s10 2.5 standard cab, i plan on lowering it 5/6, i want to use my old '82 Z28 rims (15X7) with new 195/50/15 tires. i hear though that these rims will stick out the side of the wheel well a few inches and may rub with 2inch drop spindles because of their backspacing. is this true? if so what backspacing should i look for on other 15X7 rims that i may purchase. thanks.

195 50 15 is really small man. on 15x7 205 60 15 or 215 60 15 front and 255 60 15 rear. the z28 15x7 rims shoudl bolt right up.

backspacing should be 4.5 on a 15x7 but rear can be 4.25 because with 4.5 bs on the rear will stick in a little more just a little because spindles move the tire in front out 1/4 of a inch. you can run 1/4 inch spacer in rear if it bothers you no problems
