I am putting a sub and an amp in my truck my question is how do I hook the amp up to the battery? I have the type of battery that has the terminals on the front and the wires screw into them(I don't have any top posts). Is there a way to hook up for example a 4 gauge amp wire to it?

Change your post screws out to a longer post.They have provision to attach accessory cables to them.Check at parts store or a marine supply store.

i bought a screw in gold terminal for my battery made for hooking up a power wire with a crimped loop. works great. i think i got it from sound advice.

Just pop out the OEM battery bolt, and pop one of those in.
Then, crimp your power wire with a ring terminal and undo the 2nd bolt on the new terminal.
Put the ring terminal on that, and screw down.

When they ran my amp they hooked the power wire up to the fuse box..a thing on the outside..it said B+ I think..

what u need is called a" gm battery tap" rockford fosgate part rfp-8020 i believe, could be worng on that one...u don't want the truck one if u r hooking up an amp to ur s-10...u want the regular car one with a short post...all the other guys explained how it works
