On my 2000 S10 4.3 my clutch on the air conditioner is not engaging. It appears that I am not getting voltage to the clutch. Assuming that there should be voltage there when the air conditioner is turned on. Is there a hidden relay or something like that? My fuse and relay under the hood in the fuse box are working fine.

There is a high pressure switch and low pressure switch on the a/c system. If the a/c system is over or under charged, the compressor will not kick on. This will keep your compressor from burning up. I suggest you take it some where and have it recharged.

I am having a problem where the clutch will not kick on until I have been driving for a while, I think, either that or it is just intermittently coming on. Is this likely a low pressure problem, an electrical problem or a mechanical problem with the clutch?
