I have a 2003 w/ auto trans. 9500 miles. A month ago it wasn't accelerating, hesitating, and could not get above 65mph, horrible mileage. I bring it to Chevy who tells me I have contaminated fuel (I hear this is a scam when they don't want to honor warranty) and they procede to replace fuel pump, gas lines, fuel injectors for a total of $1800. Now a month later the tranny won't shift into high gear and the engine is redlining just to do 65mph and mileage is around 14mpg highway. Anyone know what this could be? I don't wanna get hosed for another $1800 when they tell me it's contaminated fuel again. Also the first time they said they didn't know what it was contaminating the gas.

It sounds like you could be overheating...i'm not sure with s-10's, but some cars have built in tranny coolers. If your truck won't shift then your radiator could not be cooling correctly, thus explaining your poor acceleration, gas mileage, and studdering. Just a thought...
