My 91 was missing and not doing real well on the highway, so I went to PCV, wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Much better but still not right. The fuel filter on the firewall fixed most of it.

Is this the best I can get with 159K on the engine. It's sort of a real "fine" miss, if that makes sense.

Could the converter cause that? Would it hurt to put a by-pass in?

Thanks

Someone else just posted on here about a bad EGR valve. It seems to me like ALOT of these get carbon build up easily.

Thanks!

You and others got me looking hard. I went for a CAT by-pass or low-restrict. Bought the low restrict, then wound up doing cat-back and added a turbo slider. Man, what a difference.

Of course, 160K and 14 years on the original CAT was nuts. And, it was collapsed.

I'm going for the EGR next, although it runs much better.

I guess my problem now is exactly how smooth is this thing supposed to really be at idle at ITS age?

Thanks, again, to all here! $250 bucks poorer, a little more mellow sounding, but a happy '91.
