i need to know what to do to get the fuel gauge in the truck to work and if i need to swap parts out in the tank

When I had carbed 355 in my engine I removed the Fuel sending unit, removed the fuel pump and drilled a hole in the top of the sending unit to install a 8an 90 degree bulkhead fitting. I then ran a 1/2 aluminum pipe to the bottom of the sender to draw fuel. I then ran 8an hose and 1/2 aluminum pipe to the engine.

if u still have wires ran from your stock sender to your gauge and they are the same as before you swapped it should work

i switched from stock gauge to autometer and it works with stock sender

if your running a stock to mild motor you can pull through the stock fuel pump without removing it itll work fine. but you do need to pull the fuel pump fuse.I believe someone else on this forum said the sender wire is purple but im not sure about that just make sure your sender is hooked up you should be golden
