i just picked up a 95 2.2. the truck seems to run just fine, but at idle it sounds like the valves are clicking (for lack of a better word). how much trouble is getting this fixed, and do i need anything special to do it?

i'm broke, so i have to get off as cheap as possible, but i want to make sure it's fixed right, cause if it dies then i'm screwed.

sounds like mine, lol. You could just take the valve cover off and see if anything needs to be tightened within specs. After I put on my new head and tightened everythign down to specs it sounded like that so I just assumed it was normal. These engines are very noisy

I had to get a magnaflow muffler just to cover up the engine noise of my 2.2!

I wonder if those hood insulators work as far as reducing the noise?

yeah... I noticed the valve noise after my cd player broke. A new cd player made short work of the problem
