Hi, I’m putting a new alternator in my truck, I got it all in but there’s a plug and 2 wires behind the alternator, the red wire goes on the post on the back of the alternator and the plug goes in the plug connector but where does the other wire go? It’s got a connection that looks like it goes around a bolt ?

If both wires were on the post, they were both positive. You hooked one straight to the case, which is a direct short to ground.

(update on my alternator questions) alternator died, I replaced the alternator and battery and after it was all hooked up, I got nothing, no power to anything.. I googled and searched, I had no luck besides you guys telling me I had a short to ground some time when hooking up my alternator.. I had a mobile mechanic come over today and diagnose my issue and he told me the fuse block box in the cabin is fried and I need to replace it.. I just bought the truck and tis on airbags and the mechanic said it looks like a 2 year old wired it up.. he told me to tear out all the wiring and rewire it all correctly and replace that fuse block box... he said hopefully it didn't fry anything else along the way

Could you clarify "tis on airbags" - I was unable to decipher it. Also, can you post photos of the fuse box & wiring for reference?

Sounds like a great truck. A 95  2.2L on airbags with a totally screwed up electrical system. Rewiring the whole truck will take someone with a lot of knowledge of 95 S10's who also knows how to wire the bag system correctly. Darn near going to need another exactly identical truck for parts. Also going to take a long time to do it. Is the air bag system done better than the electrical? For your sake I hope so.
Given any thought to parting it out?
