I'm still trying to figure out my issue after 7 months. I have a steering problem. When I turn the steering wheel, the steering shaft connected to the steering box moves before anything else. I've put on a "new" box. Didn't help. Could it be something under the dash in the steering column like a worn out bearing or something, I'm lost, I've replaced all major steering components. 93 gmc slownoma 4x4 4.3. Any help,thoughts,suggestions is much appreciated. Thanks guys and gals.

I bought a hooker steering shaft so that's gone.

I've replaced idler pitman arm, ball joints control arm bushings pretty much everything but the center link.

They're inexpensive...do it also....then get it aligned.

If the shaft going in to the box moves and the pitman arm doesn't, it's in the box. Most rebuilt boxes are simply washed and painted ones from junkyards. You'll need a new box from a reputable company not Cardone or any of the other cheap rebuilders. Borgeson makes a real nice one, but they aren't cheap. Actually most of the rebuilt crap is getting so pricey these days, it's not all that much more for a good one.

Sorry for the late reply. I've already ordered 2 box's. What are the odds I get 2 box's with the same issue? I ended up putting the stock box back in.
