How hard would it be to convert 4wd to 2wd looking to build a drag truck any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not hard, but the 4wd has a heavier frame so starting with a 2wd truck would be way to go. You should be able to find a 2wd roller cheap since you'll be replacing the whole drivetrain and suspension system and removing all of the interior. A base 2.2l truck would be lightest.
